Velida began her art career by studying under many distinguished painters. Now she shows her work regularly, has become active in several art organizations and is an art teacher herself. Her artistic abilities even won her acclaim as the Grand Canyon Nat'l Park's first "Artist in Residence".

vELIDA'S ART
Velida travels extensively to collect images for her paintings. She paints original florals, still lifes, structures, landscapes, animals and Southwest subjects painted in either watercolor, oil or pen & ink. Over the years, she has had several one woman shows and regularly participates in competitions, winning awards both locally and nationally.
